Wochentopf

Plan the week, shop once, cook without thinking

A free weekly meal planner for German everyday cooking: 160 dishes with recipes and photos, a shopping list that writes itself, sorted by supermarket aisle, and calories per day — all of it in your browser, no account.

Live at wochentopf.de

Wochentopf homepage: header with the tabs Week, Dishes, Shopping, Tips and Season, next to it the heading “What are we eating this week?” with the buttons “Plan my week” and “See dishes” and the note that everything stays on this device. On the right a photo of a red enamel pot on a wooden table with carrots, onions, leek, a wooden spoon and an empty notepad. Below, six feature cards: the week at a glance, a shopping list that writes itself, 162 dishes people actually cook, kitchen know-how, on paper, and your data stays with you.

About the project

Wochentopf answers the Tuesday-evening question before it comes up: what are we eating this week? Seven days, lunch and dinner, filled by hand from a catalogue of 160 German everyday dishes — from Rouladen with dumplings to Käsespätzle, lentil stew and bread supper — or rolled in one click into a varied week that respects the season, the household’s eating style and a weekday time cap. Sides that are part of a meal come along by themselves, and each can be cooked from the recipe, bought ready-made or marked as already in the freezer. The shopping list is the point of it all: every ingredient of the week, added up, scaled to the number of portions and sorted by supermarket aisle, with pantry staples parked out of the way and a printable A4 version for the fridge door. Every dish carries a photo, the steps, the allergens derived from its ingredients and an estimate of energy, protein, fat and carbohydrates per portion, computed from the German Federal Food Key (BLS 4.0); the week view adds a calorie chart per day. Own recipes join the catalogue and land on the list like any other. Nothing is stored on a server: the plan, the list and your own dishes live in the browser and travel as a backup file.
